Social Media for Low Energy Entrepreneurs: What to Do After Checking in w/ your Capacity

So you’ve checked in with your capacity and energy and have determined that it feels lower or more depleted.

Now what?

Especially since we live in a world where you have to pay to be here, and if you’re an entrepreneur, so much rests on our individual output. If you use social media for your business, sometimes taking time off from creating and posting isn’t available or safe.

But expecting yourself to always do the most and the best no matter your energy isn’t going to work for very long.

So what can you do?

For your content creation process, once you’ve validated that your energy feels lower than typical, or more sensitive or overwhelmed…

1- What can you simplify? What steps can you eliminate? What can you half-ass and it’ll still be functional?

Ex: reusing an old caption, doing a reel or TikTok that’s just text over simple film

2- Lower your standard for the bare minimum. Your bare minimum should not always be 100%. That is not sustainable or accessible for your low energy self. (Note - this can take time and practice to feel safer, especially depending on your lived experience! Makes total sense if lowering your standards for what feels “done” or “enough” doesn’t feel comfy or simple yet).

3- Plan for your next break. Let your brain and body know a break is coming. Could be a 5 minute scroll session on TikTok after you post your own content. Could be taking tomorrow off. Whatever feels accessible and supportive for you.

The best thing I think you can do for your low energy self though???

It usually has to happen when you have more capacity and brain power, so it’s something to save for later if your energy is low right now –

Make as many of these decisions as you can when your energy is higher for what you’ll default to when your energy feels lower.

Decisions and words are hard.

The fewer decisions your low energy brain has to make, the better.
